October 29, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have joined forces with United Way of Atlantic County once again to develop the Power Play For United Way. The program will commence at 7:05PM at tonight's home opener against the Trenton Titans and continue throughout the remainder of the season.
"The Bullies are ecstatic to once again be teaming up with the United Way in developing a great program that benefits the community," said Bullies Vice President and General Manager Dan Belisle. "We are certainly hoping to top last season's power play total, and I think we have the team on the ice that can do it."
Power Play For United Way raises money through area businesses and organizations to improve the lives of those in need here in Atlantic County. For every power play goal the Bullies score in 2004-05, those businesses will donate $10 to United Way of Atlantic County.
"We are looking forward to our continued partnership with the Boardwalk Bullies," said John G. Emge, Executive Director for United Way of Atlantic County. "The Power Play For United Way is a unique way for local businesses to help make available programs and services that benefit those in need."
Currently, Baumgardner Construction, RLS CopiScan, AtlantiCare, and Glenn Insurance all have joined the Power Play For United Way.
Opening Weekend 2004 at Historic Boardwalk Hall is just around the corner as the Bullies battle heated rivals Trenton at 7:05PM on Friday, October 29 and Reading at 7:05PM on Saturday, October 30.
