JOHNSTOWN, PA – Mark Mullen's second goal of the night with six seconds remaining in overtime lifted the Pee Dee Pride to a 3-2 win over the Johnstown Chiefs Friday night at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. Chiefs' goaltender David Cann made the initial save on Brian Collins' shot, but Mullen put the rebound home for the Pride, who improve to 3-1-0 on the season. Pee Dee drew first blood 2:43 into the opening period. Cann, making his pro debut, left the puck loose right in front of the net, and Mullen was there to blast it home for his second goal of the season. Johnstown tied the game just 2:06 into the second period as Dmitri Tarabrin gathered in a loose puck behind the Pride net and skated into the left wing circle where he wrested a shot past Nick Boucher for his first of the season. The Pride went back on top just over three minutes later. On the power play, Allan Sirois skated to the blue line and beat Cann with a wrist shot for his first of the season. The Chiefs tied it at 2 with a power-play goal of their own at 13:25. Boucher made the initial save on the shot by Brent Kelly. The rebound shot out to the slot where Shawn Mather was able to one time it past the Pride netminder for his second of the season.
