TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

Fuesser: Allowed 2 R on 2 H with 5 BB and 3 K over 4.0 IP in 4/13 ND vs. GRV (3-2 WVP in 10)

Mitchell: Allowed 2 R on 1 H over 2.0 IP with 6 BB and 1 K in 4/13 Loss @ ROM (9-4 Braves)

POSTPONED: West Virginia's homestand finale against the Asheville Tourists on Wednesday was postponed due to inclement weather. The Power and Tourists do not play again in Charleston this season, but will meet in Asheville twice before the All-Star break. Wednesday's game has been rescheduled for May 2 at McCormick Field as part of a doubleheader on the opening day of the next series against the Tourists.

POWER REPLAY: The Power lost 12-7 on Tuesday night to Asheville at Appalachian Power Park. The Power held a 2-0 lead after five innings, but could not maintain the advantage for starter Matt Benedict. The Tourists tied the game in the sixth and plated seven in the seventh to take the lead for good. David Kandilas hit a grand slam to key the scoring in the Asheville seventh. The Power got two back in the home half of the inning and each team scored three times in the ninth. Porfirio Lopez took the loss after surrendering six runs on one hit, three walks, and two hit batters in two-thirds of an inning of work.

FINE AT NINE: Alen Hanson has a nine-game hitting streak entering his next game. Hanson is batting .447 during his current streak with three home runs and seven runs batted in during that stretch. Only four players in the league have had longer streaks than Hanson, and each one of those players streaks are still active.

BUSY WEEK FOR TRAVEL: The Pittsburgh Pirates made three moves earlier today that affect the active West Virginia roster. Porfirio Lopez was promoted back to Bradenton after appearing in Tuesday night's Power game.Josh Poytress was also promoted to High-A after having gone 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA for West Virginia over three games. Eric Avila was transferred to the Extended Spring roster having only played in four of 13 possible games this year. To fill these three openings, Pittsburgh added three pitchers who had previously been on the roster. Stetson Allie was added off the Extended Spring roster while Orlando Castro and Mike Jefferson were promoted from State College.

SHUTOUT STORY: Prior to Monday night's 16-0 game between the Power and Tourists, West Virginia and Asheville were the only two teams in the South Atlantic League that had not been involved in a shutout on either side this season.

LEADER AT THE TOP: Alen Hanson is among the South Atlantic League leaders in ten different offensive categories: batting average (4th), games (2nd), home runs (tied for 1st), at bats (4th), hits (1st), slugging percentage (2nd), doubles (tied for 2nd), extra base hits (1st), runs scored (2nd), and total bases (1st).

PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 27: The Power will host a Charlies Reunion Night on April 27 at Appalachian Power Park. Former Charleston Charlies like Kent Tekulve, Steve Blass, and Dave Parker will be in attendance for the game and will sign autographs. A commemorative Charlies giveaway will also be handed out to the fans in attendance.

POWER POINTS: Asheville's 16 runs and 17 hits on Monday were the most allowed by Power pitchers since August 26, 2010 at Augusta (18 runs) and the most hits since July 17, 2011 against Charleston (17 hits)... The Power and Augusta GreenJackets have turned a league-low seven double plays this season. West Virginia had not turned multiple double plays in any game this year until Tuesday night... Tyler Austin of Charleston and Matt Barnes of Greenville were the SAL Players of the Week for April 5-15.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Arizona 2-1 Wednesday and won the series by that same count... Indianapolis staved off Columbus 4-3... Altoona lost 7-1 at Harrisburg. Nathan Baker took the loss for the Curve... Bradenton did not play.
