Savannah, GA - The Hickory Crawdads used three triples to snap the Sand Gnats' six-game winning streak with a 7-1 victory Thursday night at Historic Grayson Stadium.

Hickory (9-5) scored in three of the first four innings to take a 4-0 lead after batting in the top of the fourth. In the first inning, 3B Hanser Alberto tripled and scored, and in the second LF Chris Grayson did the same to put Hickory up 2-0. The Crawdads doubled their advantage to 4-0 with two unearned runs in the fourth against starter Alex Panteliodis.

The Gnats (10-5) pushed across their only run in the bottom of the fourth to pull within three runs at 4-1. 1B Brian Harrison singled, and advanced around the bases on a balk, a groundout, and then an RBI groundout by DH Charley Thurber. Savannah had the bases loaded down 5-1 in the fifth, but could not find the hit to draw closer.

Hickory out-hit Savannah 13-2 Thursday.

Crawdads' starter Jerad Eickhoff earned the win for holding the Gnats to one run on two hits in his five innings of work. Savannah starter Alex Panteliodis was charged with four runs, only one of which was earned, in his four innings to take his first loss of the year. Hickory reliever Santo Perez shutdown the Gnats over the final four innings to pick up his first save of the year.
