KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 19, 2012) -- The Lexington Legends pulled ahead of the Intimidators with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, defeating Kannapolis 2-0 on Thursday night at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The Intimidators (6-8) have now played eight games decided in the final at-bats, going 4-4 in those contests.

Lexington's Roberto Pena dropped a two-run double into right field to break a scoreless tie in the ninth inning.

Legends starter Nick Tropeano (1-0) spun eight scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out nine, giving him 27 strikeouts through three starts this season. Jason Chowning struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to earn the save (2).

Intimidators starter Scott Snodgress matched Tropeano while on the mound. Snodgress did not earn a decision over seven scoreless innings of work, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out three. Stew Brase (0-2) pitched a scoreless eighth before giving up the game's only runs in the ninth.
