The Shorebirds and Grasshoppers are in a two-way tie for first place in the Northern Division. The Shorebirds have won five straight games. The two teams split a four game series this past week (April 12-15).

The Shorebirds rank second in the league with a 2.84 ERA.

DAVIS STREAKING: Center fielder Glynn Davis has 11 hits over a 6-game hit streak (11-for-25, .440). He has reached base in nine straight games. Davis ranks ninth in the South Atlantic League with a .362 batting average. He ranks fourth amongst Orioles minor leaguers.

RUETTIGER'S RBI TEAR: John Ruettiger has eight RBIs in the last five games after recording just two RBIs in his first eight games played. Ruettiger has at least one RBI in each of the last five games. He ranks second on the team with 10 RBIs (Brenden Webb, 11). He has hit safely in 11 of 13 games.

DELMONICO HEATING UP: After going 0-for-24 between April 10 and April 17, Delmonico has three hits in his last five at-bats with five RBIs. He hit a two-run double in the sixth inning last night.

10 STRAIGHT FOR COWAN: Jake Cowan retired all ten batters he saw last night (3.1 IP) to pick up his first career save. Cowan has not allowed a hit in his last 6.0 innings pitched.

2 FIRST INNING RUNS: The Shorebirds have allowed just two first inning runs to their opponents in 14 games. Asheville scored a first inning run on April 7 and Greensboro plated a first inning run on April 15.

BALANCE: Seven different players have led the Shorebirds in hits in a single game. Only one time this season has a player led the team in hits in back-to-back games (Brenden Webb).
