Simons Promotions and the West Virginia Power along with Suddenlink, Bud Light, ESPN radio, 96.1 The Wolf, 98.7 The Beat, 107.3 KROCK & Adelphia Sports Bar are proud to present "Power Beat Down 9: Cage Fighting vs. Boxing". The event is this Friday, June 8th at Appalachian Power Park and will feature Live Professional Mixed Martial Arts "in the Cage", Live Kick-Boxing and Live Professional Boxing "in the ring". Bell time is set for 7:00 PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
This will be West Virginia's 1st outdoor MMA Event. The main event features undefeated Cornelius Godfrey (5&0) from Huntington, WV vs. Jeremy Pender 7&3 from Somerset, KY. Featured "Fan Favorite" Professional Boxers are Charleston's Brent Harper 1&1 competing in the Heavyweight Division. Charleston's Joe Mullins (2&3) will also be fighting in the Light Heavyweight division. One female bout is scheduled featuring Charleston amateur welterweight Laura Byrnes. Nine bouts are scheduled including a kick-boxing bout. Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance for general seating or $30 the day of the event.
