BlueClaws Lose 4-1 Again, for Their Second Consecutive Loss

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Nick Tropeano was as good as advertised for Lexington as he shut down the BlueClaws in a 4-1 Lexington victory.

Tropeano picks up his 5th win of the season with six innings of one-run ball while striking out six. Tropeano is now second in the league with 82 strikeouts and his ERA sits comfortably under 3.00.

The lone run of the game for Lakewood came in the bottom of the 6th inning when Gauntlett Eldemire led-off the inning with a walk. Alejandro- who went 2-for-4 with a pair of extra-base hits- hit a triple into the right field corner to score Eldemire from first base. Despite standing on third base with no outs in a 3-1 game, the BlueClaws couldn't push Villalobos across the plate and ended the 6th inning still trailing by two runs.

The BlueClaws will spend the night in their own beds before taking off for Salisbury, Md. for a three-game series over the weekend. Lakewood will send Ramon Oviedo (1-1, 6.55) will start against Delmarva's Miguel Chalas (4-3, 5.87) in Game 1 of the series.
