Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs (12-4, 42-43) defeated the Somerset Patriots (8-8, 52-32) by the score of 5-0 on Friday evening at Hadlock Field.
The Sea Dogs took a 4-0 lead in the fourth on a two-run home run by Christian Koss (10) and RBI singles by Kole Cottam and Cam Cannon.
The final run of the game came on a throwing error in the eighth on a stolen base.
Austin Wells went 2-for-4 with a double in the game for Somerset.
Bryan Mata (1-0) struck out seven in five scoreless innings for the win. Mitch Spence (3-5) gave up four earned run on four hits in 3.2 innings to suffer the loss.
The 2022 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on the road on Saturday night with a 6:00 pm game versus the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field. Fans can catch all the action on FOX Sports New Jersey 93.5 FM | 1450 AM, the Flagship Station for Patriots Baseball.
