Pivotal Series Begins for Rafters against Chinooks

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - With just three games separating them in the division standings, the first-place Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (17-9) face off against the second-place Lakeshore Chinooks (14-12) at home on Thursday.

Wisconsin Rapids came back to beat Green Bay 6-1 in game two and sweep the series against the Booyah on Wednesday. Gareth Stroh pitched seven innings and surrendered just three hits while Anthony Galason and Frankie Garriola each had two RBIs.

Jack Sinclair, who has a 2.53 ERA, will start for Wisconsin Rapids tonight. The righty from Central Florida has 32 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work. Lakeshore will give the ball to Jim Jarecki, a junior from Valpraiso. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 5.14 ERA.

The Rafters continue a four-game homestand and close the series with the Chinooks on Friday, featuring a Jockey Rosco bobblehead giveaway. The team will also wear exclusive "thank you fans" jerseys and there will be a lighted baton giveaway and postgame fireworks show all presented by Advanced Disposal.
