Wausau Woodchucks News Release
WAUSAU, WI - In a game full of scoring changes, the Wisconsin Woodchucks traded their lead one too many times. They lost to the Green Bay Booyah by a final score of 10-8.
TJ Reeves led the game off with a solo home run. The Booyah responded in a big way by scoring five runs in the second inning. Those five runs were allowed by Woodchucks starting pitcher Nolan Lebamoff. He exited shortly after as the Chucks brought on Will Thomas.
Before Thomas took the mound in the third inning, Cam Swanger helped the Woodchucks chip away at Green Bay's lead. He brought two runs home with an RBI single to make it a 5-3 game. The Woodchucks regained the lead in the sixth inning after Brandon Seltzer hit an RBI single and Adam Frank hit a go-ahead two-run home run. This gave the Woodchucks a 6-5 lead.
Will Thomas pitched well in his long relief role. He allowed two runs (zero earned) on just one hit. In five and one-third innings of work, Thomas walked one and struck out seven.
The Woodchucks went on to score two more runs with RBI singles from Adam Frank and Byron Murray. That could not match Green Bay's offense, however. The Booyah scored five runs throughout the final two innings.
