Pitching Dominates, Crim Homers in Riders Win

MIDLAND, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders took down the Midland RockHounds 7-1 on Thursday night from Momentum Bank Stadium.

Josh Stowers started things for the RoughRiders (58-45) offensively in the first inning with an RBI single, putting Frisco ahead 1-0.

In the second, Davis Wendzel doubled home Jax Biggers to make it 2-0 and Blaine Crim hammered a solo home run in the third to increase the lead. It was Crim's seventh with Frisco and his 27th on the season.

In the fourth, Diosbel Arias ripped an RBI double to push the lead to 5-0.

Frisco then put up two more in the seventh on Sam Huff and J.P. Martinez RBI doubles, elevating the lead to 7-0.

The RockHounds (51-54) finally found the scoreboard in the eighth when Jonah Bride singled home a run.

Noah Bremer (4-3) earned the win with five shutout innings, striking out six while walking just two. Sal Mendez chipped in three innings, ceding just one run and Daniel Robert fired a scoreless frame as well out of the bullpen.

Jack Cushing (0-3) took the loss for Midland in his start.

The RoughRiders and RockHounds match up on Friday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for the fourth game of the series. RHP Tim Brennan (0-1, 0.71) starts for Frisco against RHP Ty Dameron (2-5, 5.61).
