Riders Produce Late Offense, Pull Away from RockHounds in Win

MIDLAND, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders came from behind to beat the Midland RockHounds 6-2 on Friday night from Momentum Bank Ballpark.

The RockHounds (51-55) jumped out in front early in the second on a two-run double from Max Schuemann.

The Riders (59-45) struck back in the fifth when Matt Whatley hammered a two-run home run to tie the game before Davis Wendzel knocked in the go-ahead run with an RBI single.

In the sixth, Frisco tacked on when Blaine Crim scored on a wild pitch.

Diosbel Arias and Crim then both chipped in RBI singles in the seventh to extend the Riders advantage to 6-2.

In the win, Bubba Thompson went 4-for-4, tying a career best with four hits.

Tyler Thomas (2-2) earned the win in his first game back with the RoughRiders after a short stint with Triple-A Round Rock, throwing 2.2 innings in relief.

Ty Damron (2-6) was handed the loss in his start for Midland.

The RoughRiders and RockHounds match up on Saturday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. for the fifth game of the series. RHP Ronny Henriquez (4-3, 4.80) starts for Frisco.
