
Pit Spitters End Home Stand with Loss to Kingfish

Traverse City, MI - Offense eluded the (14-7) Traverse City Pit Spitters on Tuesday as they got only two hits in their 6-2 loss to the (12-10) Kenosha Kingfish.
For the second day in a row, the Kingfish struck in the first inning, this time off Cade Heil (0-1, 5.73). Heil gave up five runs over five innings.
The Pit Spitters responded in the bottom half, scoring two runs to take the lead. Tito Flores and Mario Camilletti walked to lead things off. Back-to-back balks scored Flores and moved Camilletti to third before Michael Stygles scored him with a ground ball.
The top hitter in the Northwoods League produced the difference maker in the top of the second. Kirk Liebert hit a two-out grand slam off Heil to give the Kingfish a 5-2 lead. Liebert finished the series with just two hits, bringing his average down from .478 to .459.
Kenosha's starter retired 14 batters in a row across five innings. Trent Turzenski (2-1, 4.22) allowed just one hit and collected six strikeouts through six innings. Brady Kais retired the side in order in the seventh, totaling 17 straight retired in the game.
Trey Yunger broke the streak in the eighth with a leadoff single. Yunger had both Pit Spitter hits in the game.
Christian Faust went 0-4 to end his team-high 19 game on-base streak.
Mario Camilletti walked twice in the game. He has now walked in all seven games he's played this season, and has walked multiple times in five of those seven games.
