Pirates To Host Pre-Season NHL Game

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates announced today that they will host a National Hockey League preseason game between their NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game will be played at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday, September 27 at 7:05 p.m.

"The Pirates have a great tradition of developing players for the NHL, and this is a terrific opportunity for our loyal fans to see those players who have made it to the NHL up close and in person," said Brian Petrovek, Pirates' CEO. "We're announcing the game now to provide our season ticket holders with the opportunity to take advantage of special discounts prior to the public sale date."

Season ticket holders for 2003-2004 may purchase their seats at a discount at the time of renewal. They may also purchase additional seats at the same discounted price prior to public sale. Individual ticket prices will range from $15 to $30 for non-season ticket holders.

The Pirates are back in action on Thursday when they visit Lowell. They'll host the Worcester IceCats on Saturday, March 29 at 7:05 p.m. and the Saint John Flames on Sunday, March 30 at 5:05 p.m. Tickets for all remaining regular season home games are on sale at the Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets may also be purchased by phone by calling the Civic Center at 775-3458 or Ticketmaster at 775-3331 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
