Peoria, IL - Jabari Henry hit a lead-off home run to start the game and the LumberKings were off to the races. They scored in the first five innings on their way to an 8-5 win at Dozer Park on Thursday.

Clinton scored two in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and another single tally in the fifth to open a 7-0 lead. It was more than enough offense for Tyler Pike who picked up his fourth win of the year with another solid effort on the mound.

The left-hander retired the first nine hitters he faced and took a shutout into the sixth inning. An RBI single by Jacob Wilson put the Chiefs on the board. Three batters later, Charlie Tilson launched a three-run blast down the right field line to bring Peoria within three at 7-4. All four runs were unearned.

Clinton added a run in the eighth when Brock Hebert scored on a wild pitch. Hebert was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Tim Lopes was 3-for-4 with a two-run triple. Tyler Marlette and Dario Pizzano added multi-hit games for Clinton in the win.

The two teams will play the series rubber match on Friday. Clinton sends right-hander Matt Anderson (2-5, 5.44) to the mound and Peoria counters with left-hander Kyle Helisek (4-1, 4.04). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM CT at Dozer Park.
