Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will begin their final series of the 2015 season with the first of a three-game set against the Rochester Red Wings on Saturday night. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 6:35 p.m.
LHP Anthony Vasquez (8-7, 4.14) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series opener. The southpaw earned the win on Monday at Syracuse when he gave up three runs on six hits to go along with three walks and four strikeouts in 6.0 IP. Vasquez will be making his second start of the season against Rochester. Back on July 6 at Frontier Field, he got a no-decision after allowing three runs on six hits in five innings of work.
RHP Jose Berrios (5-2, 2.67) will be on the bump for Rochester on Saturday. Berrios got the win on Monday vs. Pawtucket when he surrendered one run on four hits while walking one and fanning five in six innings of work. Over his last five starts, the right-hander-who is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the MIN system by Baseball America-is 3-1 with a 1.64 ERA. In two previous starts against Lehigh Valley this season, Berrios has allowed six earned runs in 12.2 IP.
After a multi-hit game on Friday, Pigs C Logan Moore has now hit safely in 13 of his last 17 games. In that time, Moore is hitting .362-0-3 with four doubles, a triple, six walks and four runs scored.
The first 7,000 fans 18 and older will receive a 2016 IronPigs Wall Calendar presented by Nacci Printing. The IronPigs will also be auctioning off their official on-field road jerseys from this season and there is a postgame concert in the Bud Light Trough for one hour after the final out.
