Radio: ESPN 1520 AM, Sportsnet 590 The FAN, Bisons Baseball Network

Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons face the Pawtucket Red Sox in the first game of a three-game set at McCoy Stadium (6:05 p.m.). Buffalo has lost six straight, including a two-game sweep at the hands of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to begin this roadtrip. The 2015 regular season concludes on Monday afternoon against the PawSox.

vs. the Red Sox

The Bisons are 8-6 against the PawSox this year, including a 5-1 record at McCoy Stadium. Buffalo last visited Rhode Island, July 24-26, and picked up a three-game sweep. However, Pawtucket swept the Herd in two games, August 27-28, the last time they met in Buffalo.

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND is the Bisons' 2015 Warren Spahn Most Valuable Pitcher. Copeland leads the Herd with 11 wins, the most for a Buffalo pitcher since 2010. One of those victories came in his only start against Pawtucket, April 21(2) at McCoy Stadium. In that game, Copeland allowed just one run while striking out in six innings.

MattVP

International League MVP INF MATT HAGUE went hitless last night and is still at 175 hits on the season. The total is six shy SS Jhonny Peralta's (2014) Bisons record of 181 hits. Hague also leads the IL in average (.342), on-base pct. (.419) and total bases (242) and is 2nd in RBI (88) and slugging pct. (476).

Marcus Stroman

RHP MARCUS STROMAN is scheduled to continue his MLB rehab assignment with the Bisons on Monday in Pawtucket. He tossed 4.2 hitless innings for Single-A Lansing on Wednesday with just one walk and seven strikeouts. The righty, who was 2-4 with a 3.03 ERA in seven starts with the Bisons last year before his MLB debut, tore the ACL in his left knee during Blue Jays spring training.

Bisons Bits

RHP BOBBY KORECKY is second on the Bisons modern era list in both appearances (124) and saves (29). He is just one save shy of RHP Fernando Cabrera's team record...INF ANDY BURNS has 136 hits on the season, the 7th most in the International League this year. If not for Matt Hague's MVP season, Burns' 133 hits would be the most for a Bison since OF Jesus Feliciano had 154 hits in 2009.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (76-58) lost 10-2 to the Orioles on Friday. Former Bisons INF Chris Colabello had three hits to raise his average to .330 on the year. The loss drops Toronto's lead over the Yankees in the AL East to a half a game. The Blue Jays host the Orioles again this afternoon at 1:07 p.m.
