Syracuse, N.Y. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) fell to the Syracuse Chiefs in 10 innings by a 6-5 final. The RailRiders (80-62) rallied from three runs down, but were turned away on Isaac Ballou's walk-off single in the 10th. The Chiefs (65-77) earned their second win against SWB at NBT Bank Stadium.

Mark Montgomery (1-1) shouldered the loss after issuing a lead-off walk to Jose Lozada. Emmanuel Burriss sacrificed the runner to second and a wild pitch allowed Lozada third. Ballou launched a 3-1 pitch over the head of center fielder Jake Cave to score the winning run.

Sam Runion (3-3) held the RailRiders scoreless for three innings to take home the win in relief. He walked two and struck out a pair.

SWB trailed 5-2 after four innings, but rallied for two in the sixth. Ben Gamel rolled a double down the right field line and moved to third on a single by Aaron Judge. Gamel scored on a single by Kyle Roller a two-out, infield hit by Cave plated Judge to trim the deficit to one.

Slade Heathcott and Ali Castillo teamed to stroke consecutive doubles, tying the score in the seventh. With Gamel at the plate, Castillo was thrown out at third when a pitch glanced off the glove of catcher Steve Lerud. Gamel would single later, but the RailRiders failed to score.
