Ramon Cabrera Named Bats' 2015 MVP

Catcher Ramon Cabrera has been named the Bats' 2015 Mary E. Barney Team MVP. Of all Bats with at least 80 games played, Cabrera is tops among them with a .290 average and is third on the team in hits (92), fourth in doubles (14) and tied for third in RBI (35). His 748 2/3 innings caught for the Bats is more than double anyone that has been behind the plate for Louisville this season. Cabrera was called up to the Reds on September 1, but has yet to appear in a game. When he does appear, he will be making his Major League debut.

Other Cabrera notes:

- Batted .389 (15x39) with 5 2B, 6 RBI and 2 R during 10-game hitting streak from 7/4-7/21.

- Hit .320 (32x100) after the All-Star break with 9 2B, 14 RBI and 8 R.

- Hit .444 (4x9) with the bases loaded, collecting 11 RBI.

- Hit .324 (47x145) with runners on base with 8 2B and 33 RBI.

- Hit .367 (29x79) when batting eighth or ninth with 3 2B, 2 HR and 11 RBI.

- Caught 34 pitchers with LOU this season and recorded a 3.93 catchers ERA (327 ER, 748.2 IC).

- Threw out 20% (17x86) of attempted base stealers.

- LOU went 38-46 (.452) in his 84 starts behind the plate.

- Was on the disabled list from 8/5-8/12 with a right back strain.
