
Pierce Banks Joins Kernels

Cedar Rapids, IA - Righthanded pitcher Pierce Banks has been promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels from the FCL Twins. With the addition of Banks, the Kernels active roster now stands at 25 players.
The 24-year old has made a pair of appearances for the FCL Twins, tossing 3.1 scoreless frames while allowing one hit and striking out two.
Banks was signed by the Twins out of the United Shore League on June 6, 2022. In 2021 with the East Side Diamond Hoppers, the righthander made nine starts and went 1-4 with a 3.19 ERA across 36.2 innings of work, holding a 39:13 K:BB ratio. He was a five-year standout at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, owning the program's career records for starts, innings pitched and strikeouts while ranking second all-time in wins. As a senior in 2021 he went 11-1 with a 2.38 ERA over 15 appearances (13 starts), allowing just 63 hits over 87.0 frames while working to a 86:32 K:BB ratio.
