Philadelphia Union News Release

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has signed forward Kacper Przybylko to a contract extension. Taking effect immediately, Przybylko and the club have agreed to a multi-year deal through the 2023 season after previously being under team option through 2021. Przybylko had a standout 2019 season as the top goal scorer for the team, in what would be the Union's most successful season in club history.

"Kacper's impact on our team was decisive in our run to the playoffs last season," said Ernst Tanner, Union Sporting Director. "He was among the most effective attackers in our league and combines size, skill, and tenacity in a unique way that makes him a great fit for our playing style. This contract extension reflects our belief in him and we are happy to ensure he continues to wear the Union badge."

Przybylko, 26, signed with the club ahead of the MLS Roster Freeze in September 2018. He had a standout year in his first full season with the club in 2019 with 26 regular-season appearances (25 starts) and a team-leading 15 goals and four assists. His 15 goals put him second on the Union's all-time single-season goals list. Additionally, he became the tenth MLS player, and second Union player, to score in each of his first three league starts, as well as the third Union player to ever score in four consecutive appearances.
