Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that the Club has entered a new partnership with COSI (The Center of Science and Industry). The partnership will see Crew SC and COSI partner in strategic areas of collaboration around community engagement, business and educational opportunities.
"We are excited to enter into this partnership with COSI, which has been a cornerstone of the Columbus community for several decades," said Crew SC President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. "The goal of our partnership is to engage, inspire and transform lives and communities locally and globally around the science of soccer. We can't think of a better partner for this than COSI, which is regularly recognized as one of the best science centers in the country."
Earlier today, COSI was recognized as the #1 Science Museum in the nation in the 2020 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Travel Award Contest.
Crew SC and COSI's partnership will revolve around three key areas: programmatic impact, Crew SC and COSI site impact, and global impact. The Black & Gold is set to work with COSI to put together a variety of programs and events at both MAPFRE Stadium and COSI that showcase the scientific aspects of soccer to the Columbus community.
"COSI is extremely proud to partner with Crew SC to highlight the critical role that science plays in sports," said Dr. Frederic Bertley, COSI President and CEO. "This partnership will allow us to further impact people of all ages along with our iconic soccer club in this great city."
The partnership is set to kick-off tonight at 6:00 p.m. ET as part of 'Crew Takes Over COSI', when the Club hosts a community event at COSI that will also provide a VIP experience to Season Ticket Members. The event will allow Season Ticket Members and the general public to meet and interact with Crew SC leadership, technical staff and players.
Crew SC begins its 25th season of Major League Soccer on Sunday, March 1 when the Club hosts New York City FC at 12:30 p.m. ET at MAPFRE Stadium. Tickets to all matches on the Crew SC home schedule are available now online at ColumbusCrewSC.com or via phone.
