
Philadelphia Union Announce 2022 Preseason Schedule

CHESTER, Pa. - Coming off their best postseason run in club history, Philadelphia Union today announced their 2022 preseason schedule, where the team will train in-market before returning to the club's preseason base in Clearwater, Florida for the eighth consecutive season. The Union enter the new season after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals of the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in club history.
"We're so excited to return to the wonderful city of Clearwater this February," said Philadelphia Union President, Tim McDermott. "We appreciate this long-standing preseason home as our team returns for the eighth consecutive year in preparation for an exciting 2022 season."
The team will begin full-team training in-market on Monday, January 17, following medical clearances and physicals, and will depart for Clearwater, Fla. on Tuesday, February 1.
While in Florida, the Union will play in three scheduled scrimmages: Tuesday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. ET vs. FC Cincinnati (Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex), Tuesday, February 8 at 6:00 p.m. vs. TBA Opponent (Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers), and Friday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. vs. TBA Opponent (Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex).
Following their match on February 18, the Union will return to Philadelphia to complete their preseason training ahead of their 2022 regular season home opener against Minnesota United F.C. on February 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Information regarding health and safety protocols, locations and times training will be open to media, as well as weekly press conference information, will be announced in the coming days.
