YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Youngstown Phantoms fell to the Sioux Falls Stampede Friday night by a final score of 4-3. After rallying twice to tie the game, the Phantoms could not do it a third time despite a strong final period.

"Very happy with the effort tonight, I thought the guys played hard. DeAugustine was awesome in net as usual. We gave up two goals after power plays which was a huge negative we need to correct," said Phantoms Head Coach John Wroblewski.

Bad turnovers by each team led to early second period goals. Sioux Falls would take a 3-2 lead into the final intermission, with Colin DeAugustine making a handful of big saves to keep the Stampede advantage at one.

The Phantoms carried play most of the third period and were able to cut the Stampede lead in half after falling behind 4-2, but Sioux Falls goaltender Stefanos Lekkas did his part to seal the victory.

"We need to stop more of their attacks in the defensive zone tomorrow night. We afforded them way too many opportunities tonight. We need to be more detailed on the puck going forward," Wroblewski added.

The Phantoms will face the Stampede again tomorrow night at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Puck drop is set for 7:05 local time, 8:05 Eastern.
