Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

The Muskegon Lumberjacks fell to the Green Bay Gamblers 4-2 Friday night at the L.C. Walker Arena and Event Center.

Green Bay struck first, when Gamblers defensemen Andrew Peeke received a pass from Sam Saliba and fired a shot from the top of the circle to give the Gamblers a 1-0 lead.

The Lumberjacks responded when Will Graber received a pass from Logan Drevitch, took the puck into the zone and put the puck in the net to level the game 1-1.

The second period started with special teams play, and after five minutes, Gamblers forward Brett Gruber hit a one-timer past Lumberjacks goalie Joey Daccord to give the Gamblers a 2-1 lead.

In the third period, the Lumberjacks found themselves in the penalty box again. After killing a 5-on-3 for over two minutes, the Gamblers caught a break when the puck bounced off Graber's stick and into the back of the net for a 3-1 Gamblers lead.

The Lumberjacks continued to battle and Chris Klack netted his first of the 15-16 campaign when he made a shifty move around Gamblers goalie Adam Huska, and cut the deficit to one. Rem Pitlick and Max Humitz picked up the assists on the goal. Despite strong pressure the Lumberjacks were unable to knot it and after pull- ing goalie Daccord for the extra attacker the Gamblers won a race to the loose puck and potted an empty netter to secure a hard fought 4-2 win.

The Lumberjacks and Green Bay Gamblers are back at again Saturday night at the L.C. where it will be trick or treat with the Jacks! Children 13 and under will be admitted free when wearing a Halloween costume and they can also trick and trick with the players post-game. Puck drop at 7:15 p.m. and doors open at 6:15 p.m. with Happy Hour pricing until the puck drops.
