Pettinen Recalled, Manlow Reassigned

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Defenseman Tomi Pettinen and the reassignment of Center Eric Manlow. Pettinen has joined the Islanders for tonight's road game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs while Manlow is slated to rejoin the Sound Tigers tomorrow.
Pettinen has one goal, eight assists, nine points and 23 penalty minutes and is the only Sound Tiger to appear in all 60 games this season. He also had one goal, eight assists and nine points in addition to 56 penalty minutes in a team-high 75 AHL games with the Sound Tigers and appeared in two NHL games with the Islanders last season.
Manlow has seven goals, a team-leading 24 assists, 31 points and 14 penalty minutes and is tied for the team lead with a +13 in 33 AHL games with the Sound Tigers and also has two assists and two penalty minutes in 18 NHL games with the Islanders this season. He split last season between Bridgeport and Long Island recording 19 goals, 40 assists, 59 points and 58 penalty minutes in 62 AHL games with the Sound Tigers, as well as the first two goals of his NHL career, one assist, three points and four penalty minutes in eight games with the Islanders last season.
The Sound Tigers will play the third, fourth and fifth games of an eight-game homestand when they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tomorrow at 7:35 p.m., the Hartford Wolf Pack this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. All three games will be web cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Friday's game will also be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM. Saturday's game may also be broadcast live on WICC depending on the University of Connecticut basketball schedule.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
