WORCESTER, MA- It was announced today by St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau, that goaltender Brent Johnson has been traded to the Phoenix Coyotes, in exchange for center Mike Sillinger. Johnson was most recently in Worcester, after being assigned to the club on January 14th.

Johnson made eight appearances for the IceCats this season, going 2-2-2, with a 2.30 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. With the Blues, he was 4-3-1. Johnson will head to Phoenix, while Sillinger is bound for St. Louis.

To replace Johnson on the IceCats roster, the club summoned Mike Valley from their ECHL affiliate in Peoria, Illinois. It will be the second such trip for Valley, who picked up a win in his first and only game with the IceCats this season. He stopped 24 shots in a win over the Providence Bruins on February 22nd. For the Rivermen this season, the sixth-year pro from the University of Wisconsin, has a 20-7-6 record. Valley's 2.21 goals against average is third-best in the ECHL, while his save percentage is a sound .917. Three of his 20 wins have come via shutout.

The IceCats are in action twice over the weekend at Worcester's Centrum Centre. They challenge the Hershey Bears Saturday night at 7:05 PM. The first 1,000 fans will receive IceCats messenger bags thanks to the University of Phoenix. For Sunday's 4:05 go with the Springfield Falcons, the first 1,000 will receive IceCats camouflage visors courtesy of the Mass. Army National Guard.
