Chris Kunitz assigned to Cincinnati by Anaheim

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were assigned left wing Chris Kunitz by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Thursday.

Kunitz, 24, appeared in 21 games with Anaheim this season, recording six assists with 12 penalty minutes. He has 15 goals and 16 assists with 69 penalty minutes in 38 games with Cincinnati this season. Additionally, Kunitz had a goal and an assist to help lead the Canadian All-Stars to a 9-5 victory over the PlanetUSA All-Stars in the AHL All-Star game February 9 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Kunitz was signed by Anaheim as a free agent April 1, 2003. He was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award at Ferris State University last season, posting 35 goals and 79 points with a plus-47 rating in 42 games. The 6-foot, 198-pounder was also the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Player of the Year.
