
Petes Top Wolves to Sweep Back to Back to Back Games

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes wrapped up back to back to back games with a 6-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves to collect six points, landing atop the Eastern Conference standings Saturday evening.
Sophomore forward Matyas Svoboda registered his first goal of the 2017-18 campaign to get the Petes on the board first.
Logan DeNoble added his fifth of the season to extend the team's lead by 2.
In the closing minutes of the first, and opening minutes of the second, two goals by Sudbury's Kyle Rhodes tied the game at 2.
The Petes' two-goal lead was restored at the hands of Nick Robertson and Pavel Gogolev to close out the middle frame.
Nikita Korostelev and Alex Black added third period markers for the Petes to extend their lead to 6-2, before Dmitry Sokolov responded for the Wolves for a 6-3 final score.
Sixteen Petes recorded points in the win. Goaltender Dylan wells turned away 22 of 25 shots.
"You can't rely on two or three guys to produce in your third game in three days," commented Head Coach Jody Hull after the game. "It's great when you get contributions from every line, every d-pairing and your goalie."

The Petes begin a three game road series against the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday, October 19 at 7:05pm, followed by games in Flint on Saturday, October 22 and in Saginaw on Sunday, October 23.
