October 14, 2017 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The IceDogs were in Guelph tonight for their first away game against a Western Conference opponent. Tonight's game was the third of four road games before the ‚¬ËœDogs are back at home this Thursday. Coming off two thrilling road OT/SO wins, the ‚¬ËœDogs were looking to continue their strong start to the season against the Storm.

The first period ended in a scoreless tie despite some chances for the ‚¬ËœDogs. The IceDogs' defense blocked many shots, but also jumped into the rush to get some offensive chances. Nearly halfway through the 2nd period, captain Johnny Corneil broke the tie with a beautiful shot from above the faceoff circle. Akil Thomas collected the assist on Corneil's marker. The Storm started to press toward the end of the second period, but Stephen Dhillon flashed the leather to maintain the 1-0 lead. Early in the third period, the Storm scored to tie the game at 1. With 3 to go in the third period, Ondrej Machala tapped in a centering feed by Kyle Langdon to take the 2-1 lead! Bradey Johnson picked up the secondary assist on Machala's go-ahead goal. In the final minute of the game, Johnny Corneil scored his second of the game, on the empty Guelph net!

Your IceDogs bring tonight's 3-1 win into tomorrow night's final game of the 4 game road trip in Erie! - Tickets are still available for our next home game, Thursday, October 19th, 2017, against the Mississauga Steelheads, and can be purchased online HERE, or in person at the following locations.
