October 14, 2017 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The 67's had their three-game winning streak snapped Friday night in Sudbury coming out on the wrong end of a 7-1 score. Captain Travis Barron netted the lone Ottawa goal, while Cedrick Andree had little help in his OHL debut.
The Barber Poles were heavily outshot in the opening frame, but Cedrick Andree looked sharp in his OHL debut stopping 15 of 16 first period shots.
Dmitry Sokolov was the lone wolf who beat Andree in the first and was the first team beat him again in the second at the 8:01 mark and less than three minutes later beat him for a third time to complete the hat-trick. Before the second period was out, the Wolves scored twice more to carry a 5-0 lead heading into the third period.
Travis Barron broke the shutout less than five minutes into the third, but David Levin restore the five-goal advantage just over a minute later and added another to pace Sudbury to the 7-1 victory.
Ottawa will now make the long trek to Sault Ste. Marie ahead of their Sunday afternoon clash with the Greyhounds.
The Barber Poles return to the friendly confines of The Arena at TD Place on October 20 when they welcome alumni from the 1977-87 era, including the legendary Bobby Smith, as the 50th Anniversary Season celebrations continue.
