
Petes Secure Overtime Win in Battle of the Goaltenders

(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes got back in the win column with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the surging Hamilton Bulldogs.
The only goal of the first period was scored by Will Bitten, on the power play, at 15:51. Hamilton led in shots, as well, 17-6.
The Petes stepped on to the ice for the middle frame with speed, and found their first tying goal at 2:32. Logan DeNoble buried his twelfth of the season, and first since returning from injury, to even the game at 1.
Hamilton's Arthur Kaliyev restored their lead at 9:49, but at 16:01, a marker by Jonathan Ang tied the game at 2. The Bulldogs continued to lead the shot clock, 25-16.
Goaltenders Dylan Wells and Kaden Fulcher each held their opposition scoreless in the third period, resulting in the teams heading to 3 on 3 overtime. Both netminders made key saves in extra time, including numerous breakaway stops. DeNoble netted the game winner, and his second of the game, with 30 seconds remaining in the extra period to secure Peterborough's win.
Final shots were 37-24 in favour of Hamilton. Petes Goaltender Dylan Wells turned away 35 of 37 shots.
Ang, Nikita Korostelev, Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, Pavel Gogolev, Alex Black, and Declan Chisholm each collected single assists.
The Petes were 0 for 2 on the power play and 2 for 3 on the penalty kill.

The Petes hit the road Friday to take on the Sudbury Wolves at 7:05 pm, then head west to Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday to tangle with the Greyhounds at 7:07 pm. The men in maroon will return home Thursday, November 30 for a rematch against the Greyhounds at 7:05 pm.
