OHL Ottawa 67's

Petes Score Twice in Third to Beat 67's

December 17, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

In their first of three games in as many nights, the Ottawa 67's were defeated 4-1 in their visit to the Peterborough Petes. Brenden Sirizzotti scored the goal for Ottawa, while Will Cranley turned in a 29-save performance.

After a scoreless first period, in which the 67's successfully killed off a trio of penalties, the Petes broke the ice at the 3:20 mark of the second, with a goal from Tucker Robertson.

Not to be outdone, the Barber Poles tied it 12:35 in. Cranley played the puck to Ranvir Gill-Shane, who hit Sirizzotti with a beautiful stretch pass, sending him in on a breakaway. Sirizzotti's shot was stopped by Michael Simpson, but the rebound bounced in off a defender for Sirizzotti's seventh of the season, knotting things up at 1-1.

Peterborough restored their one-goal lead off a late tally by Quinton Pagé, and put the game away in the third with two more from Emmett Sproule, and Josh Kavanagh, respectfully.

Game Notes:

Brenden Sirizzotti has six points in his last 10 games.

Will Cranley was awarded an assist on Sirizzotti's goal. It was the second of his OHL career, and first since the 2018-19 season.

Since returning from injury, Ranvir Gill-Shane has two assists in three games.

Ottawa 28 shots on goal. Dylan Robinson led the team with six.

Up Next: The 67's play the first of two games at home, tomorrow night, with the Oshawa Generals in town for a 7:00pm EST puckdrop.
