Petes Honouring Local Lacrosse Heroes on Saturday Night

(Peterborough, ON)- On Saturday, October 3, the Petes will honour Peterborough lacrosse heroes that have had success in the 2015 season. Minor lacrosse players and parents are encouraged to attend the game and sit in the special lacrosse section.

The opening ceremonies of the game against the Eastern Conference rival Niagara IceDogs will feature a tribute to the following lacrosse players and teams:

- Peewee Team Ontario national champions (represented by Peterborough native DJ Clark)

- Bantam Girls Team Ontario national champions (represented by Peterborough natives Chelsea Campbell and Victoria Clark)

- Bantam Team Ontario national champions (represented by Peterborough natives Carter Page & Taylor Hoggarth)

- Jr. C Lakers Meredith Cup champions (represented by Adam Churchill, Cam Crowe, and Coach Dave Baker)

- Century 21 Peterborough Sr. Lakers Mann Cup finalists and Team Canada World Indoor Lacrosse champions (represented by Petes alumni Shawn Evans and Brad Self)

Just before puck drop, local musician Monique Gatien will perform the national anthem. Monique was a successful candidate in the Petes anthem audition process. During the second intermission of the game, fans will have the opportunity to compete in Morello's Independent Grocer turkey bowling contest for a chance to win Thanksgiving turkeys and grocery gift cards.

On the ice, the Petes renew their rivalry with the Oshawa Generals on Friday night before hosting Josh Ho-Sang and the IceDogs on Saturday at the PMC. Tickets are available here for Saturday's games, or by calling (705) 743-3561.
