Windsor Spitfires News Release
(London, ON) - Logan Brown scored on a breakaway just 17 seconds into overtime, lifting the Spitfires to a 6-5 win in London Friday night.
Gabriel Vilardi (2,3) had a pair of goals and Michael Giugovaz made 37 saves in his first game back in London after being dealt to Windsor (3-0-1-0) late last month, as the Spitfires made it three straight wins.
The Spits were 3-for-5 on the power play against the Knights and have the best power play percentage in the Ontario Hockey League.
Goals from Vilardi and Hayden McCool (1G, 1A) put the Spitfires up 2-1 after 20 minutes. Mikhail Sergachev (2) and Jalen Chatfield (1) scored the other goals for the Spits and Cole Carter picked up two assists.
Aaron Berisha had a pair of goals for London (1-0-1-1) while Christian Dvorak (1G, 3A) had a game- high four points in a losing cause. Berisha's second of the night tied the game at 5-5 with just 54 seconds to play and the Knights net empty.
The Spits are now off until Thursday night, when the Peterborough Petes (2-0-2-0) make their only visit to the WFCU Centre.
