Greyhounds Roll into Town
October 2, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack are set to host a familiar face this weekend. Former assistant coach Drew Bannister and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds roll into town for a Saturday night tilt at the Bayshore, with puck drop between the squads set for 7:30pm.
The Attack will enter the game looking to continue their hot start to the year and push their league best record to 4-0-0, while Hounds are coming to Owen Sound in the midst of a road trip that will see them play the Guelph Storm on Friday night.
Sault Ste. Marie has three out of a possible four points on the year with a 3-1 victory over Niagara in their last outing on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Owen Sound meanwhile is benefiting from the hot play of rookie Nick Suzuki who has four points in the team's first three games. Suzuki's production has nicely complimented the strong start by overage forward Josh Sterk. Sterk has five points in the team's opening trio of games, while a number of Attack forwards appear to be improving on their play from last season. The Attack's strong start has seen them take two games in overtime with wins Kitchener and Guelph to start the season and a thrilling 5-2 win over Flint in the team's last game.
Like always, Saturday's game is the only meeting between the Attack and Hounds at the Bayshore this year, and is just the first of two contests between the squads as a whole.
Having met in the first round of the playoffs twice in the past three years, Owen Sound and Sault Ste. Marie have developed a feisty rivalry that has seen the Greyhounds own a 5-3-0 record in the last five years.
Sault Ste. Marie will be led into Saturday's contest by forward Tim Gettinger who has three points, including a goal and two assists, in the team's first two games.
Tickets for Saturday night's game can be purchased at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
The weekend preview is presented to you by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. Bring your tickets to Joe Tomato's after every Attack home game for half off wings and appetizers!
