Penguins Recall Chris Barton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have recalled forward Chris Barton from loan with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Barton has registered 26 points (15g-11a) over 21 games during his rookie season with the Nailers. He leads all ECHL first-year players in points and ranks third overall with 15 goals scored. The 24-year old native of Calgary, Alberta is the reigning ECHL Rookie of the Month after compiling seven goals and eight assists in 10 games during the month of November

An attendee of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's training camp this season, Barton played in 141 career games at Merrimack College, where he scored 48 goals and 71 assists for 119 points. He also skated in one game in the AHL for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers last season.
