Marlies Begin Four Game Road Trip on Friday Night in Milwaukee

The Marlies hit the road for four games before the Christmas break looking to build on their first place lead in the North Division standings. Toronto won both games last weekend, including a 4-1 win on Saturday at Ricoh Coliseum against the Albany Devils.

What You Need To Know About The Toronto Marlies...

- The Marlies are currently first in the North Division with a record of 15-7-3-1 for 34 points. Toronto has won their past two games and is 7-2-1-0 over their past 10 contests. The Marlies rank second in the AHL with a 0.654 points percentage.

- Nazem Kadri has recorded a point in 10 of his past 12 games, notching eight goals and 10 assists during that span. Kadri ranks tied for first on the Marlies with 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists).

The Marlies won both their games last week and extended their lead in the North Division standings. On Friday night the Marlies defeated the Bulldogs in Hamilton, 2-1. Jerry D'Amigo's second period goal held up to be the game- winner. Greg Scott scored the other Marlies goal, which came on the power play. Ben Scrivens made 26 saves for his fifth win of the season. On Saturday, Toronto scored four special teams goals to beat the Albany Devils, 4-1. The Marlies power play scored three times on six attempts. Scott led the charge for the Marlies, notching a goal (shorthanded) and an assist for first star honours.

Scrivens picked up the win, making 26 saves and was the game's second star. Joe Colborne notched an assist in his second straight game.

Nazem Kadri and Josh Engel were the other two Marlie goal scorers.

UPCOMING OPPONENTS

The Marlies kick off their four game road trip on Friday night with a tilt against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center. The Admirals rank second in the Midwest Division with a record of 15-7-0- 1. They have gone 7-3-0-0 over their past 10 games and hold a record of 8-4-0-0 on home ice this season.

On Saturday, the Marlies travel to Peoria to take on the Rivermen.

Toronto defeated the Rivermen, 4- 3 on November 20 at Ricoh Coliseum. Josh Engel's first of the season was the game-winner and Jussi Rynnas made 27 saves for the win. Rivemen forward T.J.

Hensick ranks third (tie) in the AHL with 33 points.

Toronto takes on the Chicago Wolves on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

The game will mark the first of two meetings between the two clubs. The Wolves hold a record of 11-9-1-3 so far this season.

Reading Report:

The Reading Royals rank fourth in the Atlantic Division with an 8-12-3-2 record. Mark Owuya made 55 saves on Friday night in the Royals 4-2 win over Wheeling. In eight games with the Royals, Dale Mitchell has recorded six goals and one assist.
