Syracuse Crunch Foundation Announce Blood Drive to Benefit American Red Cross

Syracuse, NY (December 13, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Crunch Foundation, the club's charitable arm, will be teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Friday Dec. 16, 2011.

The blood drive will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the War Memorial Arena.

Anyone who donates blood will receive one (1) complimentary ticket to that night's Crunch game versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Donors will also have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for only $12 (normally $18) and will be entered in a drawing to win a Crunch prize pack. Dunkin' Donuts and Tops Friendly Markets will also be providing food and beverages free of charge. Al the Ice Gorilla and the Mirabito Ice Girls will also be on hand.

Crunch fans are encouraged to schedule an appointment by contacting the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543 or www.donatebloodnow.org. Photo ID is required and walk-ins are welcomed as well.

Some four million people give blood - the gift of life - through the Red Cross, making is the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. Onondaga County is in need of 3,200 units of blood each month.

The Crunch travel to Albany to face the Devils on Wednesday December 14th. They will return to the War Memorial Arena for home games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on December 16th and the Adirondack Phantoms on December 17th. Season tickets and single game tickets for the 2011-2012 season can be purchased either in person at the Crunch Box Office located at 800 South State Street in Syracuse, or by calling the office at (315) 473-4444.
