
Penguins Reassign Forwards Andrew McPherson and Michel Ouellet to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today reassigned forwards Andrew McPherson and Michel Ouellet to Wheeling of the East Coast Hockey League, according to Head Coach Glenn Patrick.
McPherson, 23, who had surgery on October 1 to repair a lateral meniscal tear in his left knee, has resumed skating and practiced today in Wheeling, W.V. with the Nailers.
The 6'2" and 185-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario recorded 20 points (6+14) and 44 penalty minutes in 35 games last season with R.P.I. (ECAC). As a senior, he was ranked among the team leaders in penalty minutes (tied for first), assists (tied for fifth) and points (seventh).
In four seasons with the Engineers, McPherson recorded 56 points (26+30) and 112 penalty minutes in 132 career games.
He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the ninth round (261st overall) of the 1999 Entry Draft.
Ouellet, 20, has appeared in one game this season with the Penguins and was scoreless with one shot vs. Hershey on October 12.
He led the Rimouski (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) in scoring during the 2001-2002 season, recording 98 points (40+58) and 66 penalty minutes in 61 games. Ouellet led the team in assists, ranked second in goals and tied for third with four game-winning goals. He ranked 18th in the QMJHL in scoring and was tied for fifth in the league with four hat tricks.
In four seasons with Rimouski, Ouellet recorded 299 points (125+174) and 164 penalty minutes in 224 career games.
The 6'0" and 200 pound native of Rimouski, Quebec was drafted by the Penguins in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2000 Entry Draft.
With today's roster moves, the Penguins have 26 players on their roster - two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 16 forwards.
The Penguins (3-2-0-0) are off until Friday, when they travel to Binghamton, N.Y. to play the Senators (3-1-0-0). Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
