
Goren, Herr Lead P-Bruins to Win

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins, in the midst of a three-game weekend against North Division opponents, tallied three power play goals to skate to a 3-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Saturday night. The win elevated the Bruins' record to 4-2-1-1 (9 points), moving them past the Lock Monsters into second place in the division.
Providence right wing Lee Goren notched his second and third goals of the season, while center Matt Herr fired home his fifth of the year. Herr, who also had an assist, has now tallied the winning goal in all four Bruin victories and leads the AHL in that category. Bruin captain Rich Brennan chipped in with two assists, and has points (0-4-4) in three straight games.
Goaltender Andrew Raycroft stopped 28 shots and is 3-2-1 on the season.
The Bruins also announced tonight that the Boston Bruins have assigned defenseman Jarno Kultanen to Providence. The 29-year-old native of Luumaki, Finland is in his third season with the Bruins, and has 2-11-13 totals and 59 PIM in 100 games with Boston. He has not played a game this season for the Bruins.
The P-Bruins hit the road for their next two games, beginning Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m., when they face off with the Worcester IceCats. They make their only trip to Binghamton, New York on Wednesday, October 30 to take on the Senators at 7:05 p.m. Both games can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550.
The Bruins return home for two games next weekend. They host the St. John's Maple Leafs on Friday, November 1 at 7:05 p.m. and the Springfield Falcons on Sunday, November 3 at 4:05 p.m.
