Flames Win 4th Straight, Down Hamilton 3-2 for Second Consecutive Night

Saint John, NB - Micki DuPont recorded his first multiple goal game of the season and second consecutive multiple point night and Dany Sabourin made 28 saves on 30 shots as the Flames edged the Hamilton Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 in front of 4,056 fans at Harbour Station. The game, Saint John's sixth straight home contest, was the Club's fourth consecutive win.

Saint John and Hamilton played through a scoreless first period to start the Saturday night contest. Oleg Saprykin opened the scoring for the teams in the second frame notching his 3rd of the season as the halfway point approached. DuPont then beat Bulldogs goaltender Mathieu Garon on a one time rocket off a soft feed from Ladislav Kohn for his 2nd of the season and first of the game. Tomas Plekanec replied for Hamilton before the end of the second to bring the Bulldogs to within one. At the 10:26 point of the third period, Francois Beauchemin tied the game at 2. Late in the period, on the powerplay, DuPont beat Garon cleanly on a second one-timer, his second of the game and eventual game winner.

Oleg Saprykin recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in the contest, adding to his team leading point totals (2g-8a=10pts) and extending his point streak to 5 games.
