Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Travis Brigley, Peter Podhradsky and Cam Severson scored first-period goals, leading the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 4-1 victory over the Utah Grizzlies Saturday at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Jonathan Hedstrom added a third-period, empty-net tally for Cincinnati, which snapped a three-game winless streak (0-1-1-1) and evened its record at 1-1-1-1 through the first four games of a six-game homestand.
Jean-Francois Damphousse, a first-round pick by New Jersey in 1997, was impressive, stopping 26 of the 27 shots he faced to record his first victory of the season.
Alexei Komarov tallied the lone goal for the Grizzlies, who had a three-game winning streak halted.
Corey Hirsch, a veteran of 106 NHL games with New York (Rangers), Vancouver and Washington, stopped 30 shots in the loss.
Cincinnati was denied on all 10 of its power-play opportunities, while Utah went scoreless in eight man-advantage chances.
