OVERVIEW ... The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are celebrating their 15th Anniversary season on the Grand Strand and are in their third season as the Advanced-A affiliates of the Texas Rangers. More than 3 million fans have attended a regular season Pelicans game since the franchise's inception in 1999. The team has won more than 1,000 regular season games in the last 15 seasons.

LAST GAME... The Myrtle Beach Pelicans lost their third straight game Monday, falling 10-0 against the Lynchburg Hillcats at Pelicans Ballpark. The Pelicans managed six hits - all singles - and did not advance a runner as far as third base. Odubel Herrera paced the offensive attack, finishing 3-for-4. Cooling off - The Pelicans offense has just 15 hits in its last three games and has been shut out twice in the series. The Pelicans are hitting just .219 in their last five games.

AGAINST LYNCHBURG ... The Pelicans .226 team batting average against the Hillcats is their lowest against any Carolina League team this season. Trever Adams has gone against the grain, turning in a .292 batting average in 19 games against Lynchburg this season. Preston Beck is batting .341 in 13 games versus Lynchburg.

COMEBACK KIDS ... Four times in the last 12 games the Pelicans have earned a substantial comeback win. Last Thursday, the Pelicans earned a 7-6 extra-inning win over Potomac despite being behind 6-0 entering the ninth inning. The following night the Pelicans entered the ninth down 2-1 and rallied to win 3-2. Tuesday against the Keys, the Pelicans fell behind 5-0 and entered the ninth down 8-3 before rallying to win it 10-8 in 10 innings. Four nights ago, the Pelicans trailed 3-0 entering the sixth inning before rallying to earn a 5-4 series-evening win.

UP NEXT ... The Pelicans are in the midst of an eight-game, seven-day homestand. The stretch features a series against two postseason hopefuls: Five games against the Hillcats and three games against the Salem Red Sox.

COACHING STAFF ... Jason Wood returns for his third season as the Pelicans skipper and his fifth as a coach in the Rangers system. He is the only current Carolina League skipper to have guided his team to back-to-back-to-back postseasons. His staff includes pitching coach Steve Mintz, hitting coach Josue Perez and assistant Humberto Miranda - all three in their first year with the Birds.
