Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The series opener of a four-game set between the Pelicans and Kinston Indians has been postponed due to rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow evening with a pair of seven-inning games scheduled to start at 6:05 PM.
Tomorrow's first game will see Myrtle Beach's Erik Cordier (4-4, 3.39) go against Kinston's Eric Berger (7-7, 2.29). In the second game, the Pelicans will send Brandon Beachy (2-1, 3.29) against Russell Young (3-5, 3.93) for Kinston.
The postponement is the second time this season that the Pelicans and Indians have been washed out at BB&T Coastal Field. The two teams were denied their series finale of a three-game set on June 11. That game was not made up as it was the final scheduled meeting for the two clubs in the first half of the season.
Following tomorrow evening's twinbill, the Pelicans and Indians will play two more contests on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for all Pelicans home games are available at the BB&T Coastal Field box office, by calling (843)918-6000 or by visiting the Tickets page at MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
