
Pelicans Begin Home Stand Against Lincoln

TIME: 6:35 p.m. on Friday, 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, and 6:05 p.m. on Sunday. All times Central.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
The Pelicans and Saltdogs will play each other for the first time this season on Friday. The Saltdogs enter the series with a record of 11-21, in last place in the American Association Northern Division. The Pelicans have a record of 14-18 and are in fourth place in the American Association Southern Division.
Lincoln is coming off a series with the league-leading Fort Worth Cats. The Saltdogs won the first game in Texas by a 9-4 margin. Fort Worth countered the next day, winning 9-0. On Thursday, the Cats won again, 8-3.
The Pelicans played the previous four games in Shreveport against the Captains. Shreveport-Bossier took the first game, 14-5. The Captains managed only one touchdown a day later, claiming a 7-2 victory. The Pelicans rallied back the next day, however, pulling out a 5-4 win in ten innings. On Thursday, Pensacola evened the series with a 3-1 win.
WHO TO WATCH:
Pensacola: Chase Burch -IF- Burch is eighth in the league in hitting, batting .344. He leads the league in slugging, and has hit more homers (five) than any other Pelican. The rookie is also second in the league with a .466 on-base percentage.
Jimmy Mojica -IF- The speedy infielder is fifth in the league with a .351 average. He's tied for the team lead with nine doubles, second in stolen bases, and second in slugging, at .500.
Lincoln: Steven Alexander -IF- Alexander leads the Saltdogs with six homeruns and 20 RBI. Coupled with six doubles, Alexander is slugging .455.
Josh Burrus -OF- In the last ten games, Burrus has driven in nine runs, hit five homers, and is batting .405. On the season, Burrus is hitting a team-best .315 and his ten stolen bases lead all Saltdogs.
