Palmisano named to Baseball America first team Independent Baseball team

Pensacola, Fla. - The Pensacola Pelicans American Association Professional Baseball team is

proud to announce that catcher Lou Palmisano has been named to Baseball America's First

Team 2010 All-Independent League team.

Palmisano lead the Pelicans this season in on base percentage (.464), slugging percentage (.585)

and hitting (.347). He was second on the team with 16 home runs, 64 runs batted in and 58

walks. Palmisano represented the Pelicans as the starting catcher this past season for the South

team in the American Association All Star game and was named to the league's First Team Post

Season All-Star team.

"Lou was a big part of the Pelicans success for making the playoffs again this season. He had a

tremendous year on and off the field as he also was recognized winning the Pelicans Ambassador

award this season," said Pelicans Field Manager Talmadge Nunnari. "Good things happen to

good people and Lou is one of those guys that sets an example for everyone with his leadership."

Since 1981, Baseball America has established itself as one of the top baseball-only-publications

and has since grown into a full service media company. Every season Baseball America

announces an All Independent Baseball team involving all of the Independent Baseball teams

in the country.
