CHARLESTON, SC - Augusta's Francisco Peguero lined a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth that handed the GreenJackets a 1-0 triumph over the RiverDogs in South Atlantic League action Wednesday night in front of 1,542 fans at Augusta's Lake Olmstead Stadium.

With the victory, the GreenJackets capture the first two games of the series and lift their second half record to 23-16 (58-50 overall) while the RiverDogs drop to 15-24 in the second half (54-55 overall).

Held scoreless into the bottom of the ninth, the GreenJackets seized the 1-0 win when Vladmir Frias drew a leadoff walk and sprinted to third on Juan Perez's single to center. Peguero smacked a single to right that plated Frias for the game-winning run.

Augusta reliever Ryan Verdugo (2-0) earned the win after he tossed the final two scoreless frames with one walk and four strikeouts.

RiverDogs reliever Gabriel Tatis (0-1) suffered the defeat after he allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out one in 2.2 stanzas.

Charleston starter Jairo Heredia received a hard luck no-decision after he held the GreenJackets scoreless over 5.2 innings and only allowed two hits and struck out seven.

GreenJackets starter Ari Ronick also was given a no-decision after he tossed seven full frames and scattered three hits and seven strikeouts.

A trio of RiverDogs bats registered Charleston's three hits while Peguero collected two of Augusta's five base knocks.

With Game 3 of the five-game series set for Wednesday at 7:05 p.m., Charleston hands the ball to southpaw Trent Lare (0-2, 4.63 ERA) while Augusta opposes with right-hander Andrew Reichard (2-2, 3.52 ERA).
