CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs will offer one lucky Lowcountry resident - or an out-of-town visitor - a chance to win $5,000 at the club's inaugural Cow Bingo on Saturday, August 22, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

The RiverDogs will grid The Joe's spacious baseball field into 10'x10' squares and fans can purchase a square for only $25. The club will then release a real, live cow and if Bessie (the cow) "drops a chip" in your square, you win $5,000. There will be additional prizes awarded every 15 minutes based on the square Bessie is standing.

There also will be plenty of activity in the stadium in addition to Bessie roaming the field. Enjoy line-dancing, hillbilly horseshoes, moo'shine, ye haw contests, plenty of great food, dunk tank and a jump castle as there will be a little bit of something for every one of all ages.

"Grab your family, your cowboy hat and boots, and bring your best 'ye haw,' said RiverDogs Special Events Director Melissa McCants. "Don't miss your chance to win some big cash and great prizes."

For $25 fans receive ownership of one square and two tickets to the event. Fans may pick their own squares (based on availability) and may purchase multiple squares if they wish. Fans do not have to be present to win.

Fans looking for fun may also come to the festival without buying a square. Event tickets are just $5 and kids 12-under are free.

The Inaugural Cow Bingo is an all-ages event and is rain or shine. One can purchase squares and/or tickets at the RiverDogs Box Office or on-line at www.riverdogs.com.
